Blue bear or bust?

Aiden is finally getting his 2-year-old molars. Only the bottom ones are coming through, but it is already proving to be a bit of a problem at bedtime. Not that I can blame the kid though, I know that if I had molars coming in I would do more than a little complaining. Anyway, I digress.

Tonight, Aiden was crying about 15 minutes after Chuck put him to bed. I went up to investigate and asked Aiden if his teeth were hurting him, and he said YES! We decided to give him some chewable Motrin. If anyone knows our boy, he has a horrible gag reflex (actually, Ava does too). He finished the first chewable and then started sort of choking and when I gave him the second (against Chuck's advice), he...well, upchucked. NOT fun.

One bath and new pj's later, we had to come up with a quick solution. We have NO backup Blue Bear's (his lovey) at this point--they've stopped making them completely. I decided to get creative and make a big deal out of it. "Oooh, Aiden, how would you like to take PINKY BEAR to bed instead of Blue Bear? What fun! How exciting!" He totally bought it. Blue Bear got a much needed wash and dry, and Aiden went to bed happy with Pinky Bear. Who would've thunk it?

Needless to say, Chuck is embarrassed and sad that I wrote this blog at all, lol. His only son going to bed with a pink lovey!! God forbid! ;)
