Life as a cartoon

I was just having some fun with my photo editor and thought these turned out cute:) Wouldn't it be fun to live life as a cartoon?

One cool dude

I took Aiden grocery shopping with me today, just the two of us. To my utter disbelief, he was an absolute ANGEL, which just goes to show me that I really need to make more of an effort to get some one-on-one time with Mommy and Aiden. Anyhow, we ended up having to wait 30 MINUTES in the checkout line, but we had a fun time:) Aiden loved modeling my sunglasses for all the other shoppers (and then modeling his Thomas Train glasses for me back in the car). He's definitely one cool dude!

When good bears go bad

Most everyone knows that Aiden has a special bear-blanket named Blue Bear. Well, thanks to a dear friend (ahem, Carolyn;), Ava has a special bear-blanket too, cleverly named (by me) Pinky Bear (well, she couldn't be outdone by Blue Bear!). Ava LOVES her. Really, I'm not sure she could live without her...except the other night. We decided that Ava might be ready to have Pinky Bear in her crib with her at night. Suddenly, around 9:30pm, we hear a shrieking scream from Ava's room--it sounded like someone was killing her! Well, as it turns out, she isn't quite ready for Pinky Bear in the dark. Somehow she had dragged Pinky Bear over her face and was FREAKING OUT about it, poor girl. So, for now anyway, Pinky Bear is only allowed during daylight hours.
On a side note, I know I haven't posted many pics of Aiden lately. It isn't that I'm not TRYING to get good photos of him, I am, but the next time you see a 2 year old, try taking a pic! It's hard work to get anything that resembles a photograph! ;)

Sad Ava, Happy Ava

"Am I all alone here?"
"Haha, nope, there's my MOMMY!"

Curious George puzzle

Barnes & Noble was having a pretty good sale, so I got Aiden this cute Curious George puzzle. He really loves it and mastered it almost immediately. I got a cute little video of him playing with it!

In other Bailey news, Ava had her first night last night without being swaddled. It went ok. She was up quite a few times, but that is to be expected I suppose. Honestly, it wasn't any WORSE than she's been sleeping, so that is promising! I am still holding out hope that she'll figure out this thumb-sucking business and become an awesome sleeper. Hey, a mom can dream, right? ;)

Something's amiss

I'm not quite sure what is going on with Ava today, but something is amiss, that is for sure. She's been crying off and on hysterically for no reason and then going back to her happy old self. I hope it doesn't last long--I hate seeing my baby cry! She's so dramatic too, you would think she was dying, poor thing:(
In between her moody spells I did manage a couple of cute pics this morning. Big news here: she's FINALLY trying to lift herself off the ground during tummy time, lol. Isn't this red gingham outfit the cutest? It's size 9-12 months--I'm glad I didn't wait to try it on her, the pants barely fit!!
And a couple of shots of Aiden being Aiden, just for fun:)

Bloomers

In case you don't know what bloomers are, they are pretty much the cutest article of clothing for a baby girl...ever. Bloomers are like brightly colored underpants for babies--and let me tell you, they're irresistible!!! See for yourself:)

The princess and the king

I didn't get the beginning of the video very well, but this is still cute (I think so anyway!). I call Ava "princess" a lot. The other day I asked Aiden what Ava was, thinking that he would answer "Sissy." Instead he said, "Ava is a princess!" So then I asked him who Aiden was and he said, "Aiden is a king!" That really cracked me up, and he's been saying it ever since.

What happens when Mommy attempts a photo opp

The kids were NOT impressed.
Need I say more?
(I know, I'm an awful Mommy for snapping some pics anyway!)

Tummy time = gymnastics?

Aiden seems to think that when it's time for Ava to do tummy time, he should practice somersaults also. And run around in circles. And practice jumping. You name it!
"Finally, you took me off my belly!"

More pics...

Aiden riding the new helicopter ride at the mall
(can you tell we go to the mall a lot? Lol)

Ava being a big girl sitting in the stroller!

LOTS of new videos!

I uploaded LOTS of new videos of the kids tonight, so enjoy! They are all pretty short, about 30 seconds each. :)

Oatmeal? YUCK!

I decided to just go ahead and try the infant oatmeal with Ava to see what she thought. In a word? YUCK!! She gagged a lot but didn't throw up (thankfully--she must have sensed I am wearing a "nice" shirt today, lol). She did end up eating about a teaspoon though--not bad for a first try I guess!

Aiden's first time trying cereal for comparison!

Fun at the mall

Ok, so Ava doesn't really look like she's having fun, but she was a good girl at least:) Aiden loves to ride on those kiddie rides, he always wants to do every single one but that would cost a million bucks! :)
