Photo Friday

Lots of pics from this week. We opened up the hot tub last weekend, and the kids really had fun "swimming" the other day (ok, Aiden did, Ava hated it, lol). We had a playgroup Halloween party yesterday and I even dressed up in my old college Bee costume! Aiden really loved that I dressed up and told me that as long as I promise to dress up on Halloween, "I guess you can come with me trick or treating Mommy."

Aiden refuses to be the Buzz Lightyear costume that he begged me for for weeks--now he is "scared" of Buzz Lightyear I guess. But a good friend lent us a Spiderman costume, and he loves it, so it all worked out. (Did you know that Spiderman also loves to ride hobby horses? lol).

It's unseasonably warm this week here--it's supposed to be 82 degrees tomorrow! Hopefully the kids aren't too hot in their costumes and we can have a really fun day. We have a lot planned--Rock Ranch in the morning, Publix in the late afternoon (they have game and trick or treat stations for the kids) and then trick or treating in our neighborhood before bed. Fun day--lots of pics to come!

Fall fun

I know I am going to have too many pictures this week to try to cram it all into one post, so I thought I would do a "Fall fun...part 1" lol. This first picture makes me laugh--Aiden has the craziest cheese faces lately:) We took the rail off Ava's crib and she's been doing pretty good so far (she didn't take a very good nap today, but she is also cutting her eye teeth--STILL--so that could have something to do with it also).

I didn't get any pictures of Aiden in his costume last night at his school's fall "Trunk or Treat" (he decided to go as Spiderman--we borrowed a costume from a friend), but I did get one of Ava as a "ladybug princess" lol.

We also made cookies today and did our "Mr. Potato-head pumpkins" just like last year. I accidentally made too many eye holes--whoops! They didn't mind though and just had that much more fun making silly pumpkin faces!

Name change

Just a quick note to say that I changed the name of the blog from "The Bailey Blog" to "The Daily Bailey." A friend from highschool gave me that suggestion a while back and I've been meaning to change it and have finally gotten around to it. Cute, no? I love it! Just wanted to let you all know so there isn't any confusion!

Let the festivities begin!

I found this courderoy Halloween jumper last year at the Salvation Army for $.99. Isn't it so cute? I had to bust it out today...it's Halloween Week! One thing I will truly miss about living in Macon is how much they love to celebrate fall and Halloween. It seems like almost every church in town hosts their own Fall Festival (for FREE) and some of them are truly amazing. Bouncy houses, candy and games, popcorn, etc. Aiden's school's Fall Festival is tomorrow and then this week is full of parties, festivals and just general FUN!

I am still trying to convince Aiden to wear his Buzz Lightyear costume (I even got him the wings, it is such a cute costume!) but we'll see how it all pans out. Ava is going to be a little ladybug princess, soooo cute! I'll be sure to snap some cute pics this week and make a scrapblog or two (I'm sure you've missed my scrapblogging skills lately, lol).

Friends

I forgot to post these adorable pictures from our trip to The Rock Ranch last weekend. We went with our best friends Susan, Henry and Oliver, and had a great time despite how cooooold it was for October in GA! I've been so lucky to make some amazing friends here in Macon, and we are going to miss them so much when we move:(

Photo Friday

The weather this week has been incredible, so we ate lunch on the porch the other day and it was so nice! The kids loved the surprise picnic (we've never really had a picnic before, believe it or not!). The other pics are from this morning. Aiden was practicing making funny faces, and then wouldn't stop even though I was trying to get some NICE pics of the kids with each other. The hugging pictures are so cute except for his weird tongue hanging out of his mouth, lol.

TGIF!

Pictures and Picasos

Just some pictures from this weekend and this morning. It is chilly here--36 out right now! Nothing compared to the cold in the midwest, but for Macon this is COLD! A helpful hint for those of you who have little girls: do NOT wait until your daughter is almost 2 years old before you put tights on her for the first time. I put tights on Ava this morning for the first time ever and you would think I was trying to kill her based on her reaction, lol.

Here are some pictures of the kids' most recent artworks also. Ava LOVES to color--crayons, markers, pencils, pens--you name it, she's obsessed. She did this marker drawing yesterday (I made the shapes on it though, don't be fooled, lol). Aiden has been doing some cute painting projects at school and he actually wanted to show them off for the camera this morning!

Happy Monday!

Behind the name...

At a park playdate today, I got to thinking about baby names. No no no, don't get all excited: the baby factory at Casa de Bailey is retired for good. But I was there with friends and we were sharing our children's names and why we chose them and it got me thinking that I've never shared the meaning of my kids' names on the blog. So I figured, why not? Lol.

Aiden is of Gaelic, Celtic and Irish origin and means the same in all three: fiery. I think all who have met him could agree that he certainly lives up to that assessment! Lol. Charles (Aiden's middle name) has several European origins, but the same general meaning: Manly. So Aiden Charles means "fiery and manly." I can definitely see that!

Ava is trickier. It has a Latin-American origin which takes on a literal meaning: like a bird (as in the Latin class for bird, Aves). But it also is listed as a variation on the medieval names Avis and Aveline, with Ava having no actual meaning. We call Ava "Avis" as a nickname sometimes, so reading that made me laugh! Elizabeth (Ava's middle name) means: godly or consecrated to God. So Ava Elizabeth literally means "like a bird consecrated to God." Interesting, no?

Just thought I would throw some knowledge your way:) Have a great weekend!

Lost...

If anyone sees a little baby girl that goes by the name of Ava, please bring her to me immediately, because I have lost her. I woke up this morning and realized, my baby girl is not a baby anymore at all. She has gotten so BIG! And sassy, lol. Just trying to take this picture of her she informed me, "No Mommy! No "cheese!" NO! NO MOMMY!" stamping her foot and trying to look mad, lol.

Can you believe how much she has grown up in the past few months? Every time a stranger in public asks me how old she is, I have to say, "Oh, she'll be two in December," and then I realize that it's already the middle of October! How time flies...I'll have a 2 year old and a 4 year old before I even know it. Sniff sniff....

A moving we will go...

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT! I think most of the people that look at this blog know this already, but I figured I'd share it anyway. We're moving to the Cleveland area!! Congratulations to my wonderful husband who landed a pricing analyst position with Progressive. I am so proud of you!

We got our house listed on the market today (anyone want a nice 3 bdrm 2.5 bth in Macon, GA? lol). I am trying not to panic over the logistics of selling a house in this market and moving with a 1 yr old and a 3 yr old. I am sure it will all work out in the end...right? ;)

Anyway, we are so excited to be coming HOME, closer to family. I've made some dear friends here that I am going to miss terribly, but I think we're ready for the next stage in the Bailey Adventures. I hope Cleveland is ready for us!

PS--if you are reading this and happen to know of an excellent realtor on the east side of Cleveland, please give us his/her info! Thanks!

Still life...

I took some cute pics of the kids at the outdoor mall yesterday and thought I would share them. It was a bright spot in an utterly terrible day (we had to give Ava Miralax because she was constipated and let's just say I will NEVER do that again!). The kids playing with the statues made me smile:)

On a side note, Happy Anniversary to me and Chuck, 4 years today. Time flies when you're having fun, huh?
