More Aiden-isms...

Have to post these before I forget!

Aiden has a new Thomas train named Rosie. She is a purple train with a smiling face and freckles on her cheeks. The other day Aiden picked her up and LICKED her face. I said, "Aiden, what are you doing?" His response? "I'm licking her sprinkles!" Lol!!!

Yesterday while playing trains his bridge fell over and and he needed help. He looked at me and said, "Help, help! Ayudame!" Ayudame is spanish for "help me!" Hmm, is he watching too much Diego? Ha ha!

PS

And because I couldn't resist doing a selective color...

6 month pics

As promised! Taken this morning, so I tried to dress her a bit patriotic!
Happy 4th of July and happy anniversary to my mom and dad!

Ava's 6 month stats

Ava had her 6 month check-up yesterday. She did much better with her shots than in the past, recovering within a few minutes instead of, oh, say, an hour, lol. The Dr. was none too impressed that she isn't rolling yet or pulling up or getting onto all 4's, but she attributed that to Ava's weight and said that she's sure she'll do it all in her own time:)

Ava weighed 18 lbs even and was 27.5 inches long. She's in the 90th percentile for both weight and height. A bit different than her brother was was an even 16 lbs at 6 months old and only 26 inches long.

I am going to try to take some 6 month pics of Ava today with a little photo shoot. I'll post those later!

Blue bear or bust?

Aiden is finally getting his 2-year-old molars. Only the bottom ones are coming through, but it is already proving to be a bit of a problem at bedtime. Not that I can blame the kid though, I know that if I had molars coming in I would do more than a little complaining. Anyway, I digress.

Tonight, Aiden was crying about 15 minutes after Chuck put him to bed. I went up to investigate and asked Aiden if his teeth were hurting him, and he said YES! We decided to give him some chewable Motrin. If anyone knows our boy, he has a horrible gag reflex (actually, Ava does too). He finished the first chewable and then started sort of choking and when I gave him the second (against Chuck's advice), he...well, upchucked. NOT fun.

One bath and new pj's later, we had to come up with a quick solution. We have NO backup Blue Bear's (his lovey) at this point--they've stopped making them completely. I decided to get creative and make a big deal out of it. "Oooh, Aiden, how would you like to take PINKY BEAR to bed instead of Blue Bear? What fun! How exciting!" He totally bought it. Blue Bear got a much needed wash and dry, and Aiden went to bed happy with Pinky Bear. Who would've thunk it?

Needless to say, Chuck is embarrassed and sad that I wrote this blog at all, lol. His only son going to bed with a pink lovey!! God forbid! ;)
